Children with Complex Needs Team
If your child has severe learning disabilities and/or multiple and profound physical disabilities (complex needs), you may need extra support. They offer a range of services which aim to broaden your child's experience outside of the home and, in turn, provide support to you and your family.
At the moment, these services are free to families living in the Wigan Borough. Any services your child receives will be reviewed twice a year, so they can look at future needs.
Services provided to support families include: overnight stays, short term breaks, short term breaks with families and day care.
Eligibility Criteria (Who is this service for?)
Children who have severe learning disabilities and/or multiple and profound physical disabilities (complex needs) and their families. The child's needs will be assessed by a social worker to determine if they are eligible to receive services and to find out which services will best support the family and child.
If you don't already have a social worker and think you may qualify for some help, contact the Children in Need Duty Team - 01942 828300, or for adults, the Central Duty Team - 01942 828777.
